News from 2008
In looking to new developments at the beginning of
a New Year Custom Vacform Components Inc. continues to move forward as an
organization. Please read on to see
what new things have come our way.
ISO 14000
In line with CVC’s continued commitment to
its customers and the environment we have embarked upon the road to ISO
14000 accreditation. Work on the
program is well under way with the audit planned by the end of
February. We look forward to the
“new CVC” under this enhanced quality and environmental
program.
CVC Promens LOI
As
part of a February announcement CVC has entered into an agreement to
purchase certain assets of Promens’ Canadian operation in Lindsay
Ontario (formerly Bonar). This
agreement includes the servicing of customers who are not being transferred
to other Promens production facilities, by CVC. It also includes equipment and a
provision to continue production in Lindsay before moving to Milton.
This
marks CVC’s entrance into the custom rotational molding market
place. It is a good fit given our
extensive experience in manufacturing custom plastic products and is
further enhanced by twenty-five years of rotational molding industry
experience presently on hand at CVC.
Existing
Lindsay customers will be contacted directly by Laurence
Goddard, Sales Manager, to discuss details of the transition. The focus will be to retain the industry
leading operational expertise and customer relationships developed by the
Lindsay operation.
Urban Images Acquisition
CVC is pleased to announce the acquisition of Urban
Images in Guelph. The transaction includes all equipment
and proprietary products along with a base of custom molding clients.
CVC offers existing Urban Images’ customers a
strong knowledge of rotational molding with more than 25 years of experience
in house. Urban combined with the
Promens acquisition will make CVC a major supplier of rotational molding
products in both the custom and proprietary markets.
Production will continue at the Guelph
facility until the transfer of equipment to CVC’s Milton, Ontario ISO 14000 certified
facility. Milton
is located on Highway 401 about 20 minutes west of Toronto.
Promens Lindsay Acquisition
CVC is pleased to announce the acquisition of
various parts of Promens’ Lindsay Custom and Proprietary rotational
molding businesses as contemplated in the announced LOI. This will prove to be a very good fit
with CVC’s existing expertise in servicing custom customers and with
rotational molding.
Equipment and molds from the Lindsay facility will
be transferred to Milton
early in the process. Existing
rotational molding equipment in Guelph will be used to supply customers
during the transition period.
