News from 2007

January not only marked the beginning of a new year, it also brought with it a number of new beginnings for Custom Vacform Components Inc.  Please read on to see what new things have come our way.

ISO Registration

Early in January CVC completed a successful audit of its ISO 9001 program to the 2000 standard.  Maintaining a strong quality program is crucial to CVC’s success as a viable supplier to its customers.  The audit was completed non-conformances free which indicates how the employees of CVC have embraced our quality program.  They should be congratulated for keeping their “eye on the ball” through this time of change in the organization.

Minority Shareholder Buyout

At the beginning of 2007 the minority shareholders of Custom Vacform Components sold their shares to the existing majority shareholder.  As a result of the transaction the management, Roy Ford and Mark Oribine, left the company.  We thank them for their contributions to Custom Vacform Components and wish them well with their new endeavours in other fields.

This change marks a renewed direction for the company and is a strong “vote of confidence” for Custom Vacform Components by its financial backers.  We look forward to taking the company to the next level and servicing the changing needs of our customer base.

New General Manager

It is with pleasure that Custom Vacform Components announces the hiring of a new General Manager, Dave Young.  Dave comes to CVC with nearly fifteen years of vacuum forming experience.  He will bring proven manufacturing methods well suited for a custom operation such as Custom Vacform Components.  We look forward to developing closer links to our customers and suppliers under Dave’s leadership.

New President

Consistent with CVC’s new approach to its business, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Greg Pimento as President and COO effective mid January.  A Professional Engineer with an MBA, Greg brings extensive business operating experience from the plastics and related industries.  He has managed production establishments in both Canada and the United States and has held executive positions in public and private companies.

Throughout his career Greg has refined an expertise in the integration of acquired businesses while executing strategic growth initiatives.  This background coupled with a product development focus will take CVC to new levels.

New Sales Manager

Continuing with CVC’s new approach to business we are pleased to announce that in late April Laurence Goddard joined CVC in the position of Sales Manager. Laurence brings with him over 10 years of sales experience in custom plastics molding. In his previous positions he has worked with a variety of clients in numerous markets including; Mass Transit, Off-Highway Equipment, Medical Equipment, Electronics, and Consumer Goods. With Laurence’s knowledge of markets and molding processes both our existing and new customers will experience unparalleled service.

New Business Development Manager

CVC is pleased to announce the addition of Kari Malmstrom as a member of our sales/marketing team. Kari brings with him 26 years of thermoforming and vacuum forming experience in engineering, management and sales fields.

Experience from the bath ware, automotive, material handling, and many other vacuum forming project industries will be a new addition to CVC’s growing source of knowledge.  We are now able to assist new and existing customers with new ideas in dunnage trays, OEM components and any other special forming needs.

Give Kari a call for any new projects or questions on forming capabilities at CVC.
